The world is celebrating Swami Vivekananda’s birthday today and we mark this occasion as the National Youth Day. With youth representing 65% of our population, India today is the youngest country in the world. We are on the cusp of a high growth trajectory and the progress of the country is largely dependent on the young brigade. India has immense potential of emerging as the global leader, leaving behind China, in terms of economic development. However, this can only be possible when the youth channelize their energies towards making of a #NewIndia.

What youngsters grow up to become, depends on the environment, the society provides to them. The State Government is doing its best to harness the talent of the youth of the state. Education is the key to prosperity, we have come up with Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana and are bearing the fees of students who get enrolled in both state and national-level government colleges. Schemes like Yuva Udyami, Yuva Swarozgar, and Yuva Krishak Udyami have been initiated to identify young talents and hone them. Under these schemes, state government guarantees the bank loans provided to young entrepreneurs. A Venture Capital Fund of Rs 100 crores has also been established to promote innovation and startups.

Skill Development and Vocational Training are key to bridge the skill gap and supply trained professionals to industry. Taking cognizance, GoMP has given foremost emphasis on Skill Training - new ITIs are coming up in several districts of the state, and existing set up is being upgraded. A Global Skill Park is also being established in Bhopal in association with Singapore Govt. that will provide world-class training to our youths. Our children are multi-talented and I know for a fact that they have all that is required to realize their goals. They just need direction to make good of the infinite possibilities. Dream big and I am here to help you transform them into a reality. The building of a #NayaMP rests on your shoulders.

I conclude with the Swami Vivekananda's words of wisdom, “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success”.
