"NEW INDIA": AN EMERGING GLOBAL LEADER

There can be no other land as vivid and beautiful as India; a land that is a paradigm of unity in diversity, of love and fraternity. Even two hundred years of British Raj and several colonial conquests could not break our country’s spirit. We are the land of Mahatma Gandhi and also the land of BR Ambedkar, we are the country that has given the world the likes of immortal geniuses like Aryabhatta and Rabindranath Tagore.
As we step into the 69th year of Republic, we should realise how we have evolved as a country since the day our Constitution came into effect and how it has been a lynchpin in upholding the ideals of this great nation. With over 65% young population, India today is the youngest country in the world and a powerhouse of infinite talent. We are trying our best to harness this talent in Madhya Pradesh and bring out global leaders from this capacity pool. Several schemes have been launched by the State Government to foster higher education among youth, give youngsters a platform to showcase their talent and impart employment-oriented skill training. We are not only eyeing to create a market for job seekers, but also one for job creators.
It gives me immense pride and satisfaction that our country has come such a long way since independence. Under PM Narendra Modi’s able leadership, India is marching briskly to become one of the most powerful countries in the world and Madhya Pradesh is contributing it's bit to realise this ambitious but achievable goal. We have taken up the cause of welfare of poor and started several schemes for their development that include providing food items at a subsidized rate, providing land / housing to all by 2022 and free-of-cost medical treatment to the poor.
We realized the indispensable role women play in building a country and thus women empowerment has held a centre stage in Madhya Pradesh. We are the only state in the country that has 50% reservation for women in all local body elections and 35% reservation in all Government Departments (except forest). Skill training under Kaushalya is being provided to state women to empower them financially.
The vision of New India is being realized through our endeavours of building a Naya MP. In association with Israel, we have come up with the country’s first small arms manufacturing plant in MalaInpur. It will play a significant role in providing our soldiers with world class weapons giving a fillip to 'Make in India' initiative of central government. Madhya Pradesh is also building the world’s largest Solar Park in Rewa. The 750MW plant will position India as an energy-efficient, environment-friendly nation.
India is projected to overtake both the UK and French economies in 2018 to become the 5th largest economy in the world. By 2030 it is projected to be the 3rd largest after USA and China. This is being made possible because of our constant effort to reform, perform and transform. Structural reforms undertaken by NDA government at the centre will go a long way in making India a strong, transparent and healthy economy. India today is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The whole world is looking up to India, for direction in growth, in an otherwise gloomy economic environment globally. 
However, none of this would have been possible in the absence of a strong Constitution. It has woven the country together with a thread of sovereignty, socialism and secularism. It has protected the rights of each and every individual including poor, downtrodden and minorities. This Republic Day, I urge all of you to put in your best, and contribute in making India the most powerful prosperous country in the world.
